Things to Do in Platoro

Fishing

Fish the nearby Conejos River & many un-posted streams including several miles of quality "wild trout waters." There are dozens of high-country lakes that produce excellent trophy fishing. Platoro Reservoir, just minutes away, is stocked with Browns, Rainbows, and Kokanee Salmon.

Local Fishing

Whether you are a seasoned fly fisherman or novice worm drowner, Platoro is the place to fish. From fly fishing the gold medal trout waters of the Conejos or taking it easy on the banks of Platoro reservoir. Throwing steal works well in the rivers and the lakes. You can never go wrong by drowning a worm or two. Or use the local outfitter to take you on the lake or on horseback to high mountain streams and lakes. Check out our fly shop in the lodge.
